Schraad Realigning Fresh Division Team

Oklahoma City, Oklahoma-based Schraad Sales & Marketing has realigned its Fresh Division Teams under the leadership of Chief Strategic Officer Patrick Thompson and Nathan Nixon, VP strategy of fresh.

The restructure includes the promotions of Tom Williams, Clay Jones and Sherry Wood and the addition of Codie Hair to the team.  

According to Schraad, the moves are aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and reinforcing its commitment to providing best-in-class service to clients and partners. By streamlining top-down communication between customers and regional sales teams, it is setting a foundation for a more responsive and agile operation. 

The enhanced framework should ensure that teams are better informed, but also able to leverage synergies to navigate the complexities of the market.

Tom Williams 

Williams, who joined the company four years ago, has been promoted to senior director, strategy – fresh. Since joining Schraad, Williams has helped execute growth strategies for clients locally and nationally. 

In his new role, he will oversee fresh sales in the North Central region and take on certain corporate strategy responsibilities.  

Throughout his career, Williams has held leadership roles, such as serving on the Retail Foodservice Board of Directors with United Fresh and on the Fresh Fruit and Vegetables Advisory Committee to the U.S. Secretary of Agriculture. 

Clay Jones

Jones, of the San Antonio team, has been with Schraad for three years and assumes the role of senior director, strategy – fresh. 

In his new role, Jones will lead fresh sales throughout Texas, in addition to various corporate strategy initiatives. 

His experience at the retailer level, on the manufacturer side and in the wholesale space gives him an edge when it comes to finding solutions to market challenges. 

Engaged with industry groups, Jones was recently selected as a member of SEPC’s 2023-24 Next Generation Leadership Academy, a development program for up-and-coming produce leaders. 

Sherry Wood 

Wood, a member of Schraad’s Dallas team since 2019, has been promoted to director of produce sales for Texas. 

Wood is a professional with more than 32 years of experience. Her previous roles span retail, supply chain and CPG companies, having held management positions in sales and category development. 

Her knack for networking and fostering collaborations has helped her form relationships with decision-makers. Her efforts have been vital to Schraad’s continued expansion in Texas. 

Codie Hair

Hair joins Schraad’s team as the newest business development manager in San Antonio. His primary focus will be driving sales for H-E-B and developing promotional strategies for Schraad’s roster of produce clients. 

With more than 28 years at United Supermarkets, Hair brings retail-level experience, including management roles across all produce department categories.
