ips All Natural, a new food company based in Los Angeles, says it has cracked the code on creating better-for-you, protein-packed snacks with the introduction of the first-ever chips with egg white protein.

The idea for ips—which rhymes with “chips”—came when founder Sean Olson made eggs for his two sons. Their love for the crispy, white edges of the egg inspired him to harness the power of egg whites to create a protein-powered chip. Made with corn, egg whites and other all-natural ingredients, using a patent-pending Pressure-Puffed process, ips have a crunch and come in four flavors. Each 1-oz. bag of ips’ “intelligent protein snacks” delivers 7g of high-quality protein (as much protein as two egg whites) and contains half the fat of fried chips, as well as fewer carbs than baked chips, according to a news release.

“We created ips for people who love to snack but want more than just empty calories—from parents like me who want healthier snacks for their kids, to active individuals who know that protein helps keep your body at its best, to anyone who wants a healthy snack that can be enjoyed on the go,” says Olson. “We take out some of the fat and empty carbs found in traditional chips and replace it with nutritious egg white protein to offer a wholesome, satisfying, never-fried chip that you can feel great about eating.”

Paul Sheppard, ips president, adds, “Sean and I both love chips, so when we created ips we knew there could not be any compromise on taste. What sets ips apart from other chips is the combination of nutritious protein with the addictive crunch and taste that we all want in a chip.”

ips chips contain no artificial colors, flavors, preservatives or GMO ingredients. These gluten-free chips also have no trans fats and currently are available in four varieties: Aged White Cheddar, Barbeque, Cinnamon and Sea Salt & Black Pepper at select retailers in Southern California, online at amazon.com and through the company’s own website, ipsallnatural.com.
