Rising Sun Farms Donates 10% of Profits for Celiac Awareness Month

Last updated on June 13th, 2024 at 12:10 pm

In support of Celiac Awareness Month this May, Rising Sun Farms will donate 10 percent of May’s profits to the Celiac Disease Foundation (CDF). The CDF is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing services and support regarding celiac disease through programs of awareness, education, advocacy and research.

Celiac, or gluten intolerance, is an autoimmune disorder caused by eating gluten, a protein found in certain grains, such as wheat, barley, oats, rye, spelt and in many food additives. To date, a 100 percent gluten-free diet is the only existing treatment. With a rate of 1 in every 133 Americans diagnosed with celiac, heightened patient support and services, along with the availability of a variety of gluten-free food options has become increasingly important to sufferers.

Since its inception in 1985, Rising Sun Farms has always produced 100 percent gluten-free foods. A dedication to gluten-free ingredients aligns with the company’s philosophy of providing food made with healthy ingredients. Rising Sun Farms products are 100 percent free of chemical additives, including those with hidden gluten, like MSG or ‘natural flavorings’. All products are produced in their dedicated gluten-free production facility. Rising Sun Farms stands by its commitment to the celiac community with this month’s generous contribution to the CDF.
