Glorioso’s Italian Market recently won The Business Journal’s 2011 Real Estate Award for Best New Development or Renovation.
The project was directed by Mehmert Store Services Inc. of Sussex, Wis., which worked with Glorioso’s Italian Market on a major renovation of the historic Astor Theater, converting the 20,000-s.f. building into the new location for Glorioso’s Brady Street store in Milwaukee. The original building was built in 1907 and was an open theater space that held vaudeville stage performances.
The Glorioso family has operated an Italian market and deli in Milwaukee for more than 64 years.
Mehmert Store Services, a 21-year-old firm, has managed projects throughout the U.S. with current projects under way in Wisconsin, Illinois, Minnesota, South Dakota, Florida, Pennsylvania and Colorado.
