Boulder, Colo.-based Sunflower Farmers Market, the full-service natural and organic grocer known for “serious food at silly prices,” will open its third store in the Oklahoma market in the first quarter of 2013. The market will be located at W. Main Street and S. Lahoma Ave. in Norman.
“We’re truly looking forward to both our upcoming Oklahoma grand openings, the Edmond opening, and now the Norman location in 2013,” said Sunflower CEO Chris Sherrell. “We’re excited to expand Sunflower’s famous selection of natural and organic foods at silly prices to these new areas.”
Sunflower Farmers Market currently has one store in Oklahoma City that opened its doors in August 2011. The Edmond market will open this April followed by the Norman location in 2013. The Norman store will take over the space formerly occupied by Hobby Lobby at 555 W. Main St. The newest Sunflower is expected to offer a boost to the local economy by bringing at least 100 jobs to the area.
Sunflower Farmers Market, whose motto is “Serious Food…Silly Prices®,” also will bring a fresh take on grocery shopping to the area by offering customers affordable, all-natural and organic products and a simple and efficient shopping experience. The new Norman location will offer fresh local produce, all natural meats and seafood, a large bulk selection and natural living health and wellness products all at the lowest possible prices. Sunflower also offers an extensive private label line.
The new store will be easy to navigate with low shelves to allow customers to see the store layout better as well as frequent breaks between shelving for improved maneuverability. In addition, Sunflower aims to make savings easier as well. While the market offers weekly sale flyers it doesn’t require discount cards. Sunflower Farmers Market was founded in 2002 and has 35 retail stores located throughout Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada, Utah, California, Texas and Oklahoma.
