Valli Produce International Fresh Market, with four locations in Illinois, will open its fifth store this spring in Rockford.
Its current locations include Arlington Heights, Hoffman Estates, Glendale Heights and Loves Park.
“We are optimistic about the future,” said Alfredo Presta, one of the three founders of the company. “Our focus is on increasing sales by operating quality stores, remaining competitive in our pricing and selection, exploring ways to improve procurement and containing operating costs. We will continue to improve our store base to better serve today’s and tomorrow’s customers.”
Pesta, Lou Tenuta and Frank Chilelli emigrated to the U.S. from Valli, Italy, hence the name of the company.
Their stores cater to a wide spectrum of ethnic groups in the Chicago area.
