World Market will open its 13th Illinois location in Prospect on March 29.
The specialty retailer’s new store is located in the Randhurst Village Shopping Center at 151 E. Euclid Ave., and will carry a unique and affordable selection of home furniture, home décor, fashion accessories and personal care products, as well as gourmet food and wine from around the world.
“Illinois is an important market for us and we’re excited to add our newest World Market location into a vibrant and growing Chicago suburb, such as Mount Prospect,” said Fred Rancour, SVP of stores.
Mount Prospect Mayor Irvana Wilks will mark the official store opening with a ribbon cutting at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, March 29. There will be giveaways, live music, free food and beverage sampling, and raffle drawings for World Market gift baskets and $100 World Market gift cards.
From 1-3 p.m. Saturday, March 31, customers are invited to meet Jeff Mauro, host of Food Network’s “Sandwich King” and winner of season seven of “Food Network Star.” In celebration of the store opening, Mauro has created two special sandwich recipes for World Market, which he’ll demonstrate and sample for customers.
Cost Plus World Market operates 259 stores in 30 states under the names “World Market” and “Cost Plus World Market.” The store features an ever-changing selection of casual home décor and furnishings, housewares, gifts, jewelry, decorative accessories, and more than 500 international wines, gourmet foods and beverages imported from more than 50 countries. Many items are unique and exclusive to World Market and are regularly supplied by an international network of individual and regional artisans developed over the company’s more than 50 years in the import business.
