‘Old Croc’ Australian Aged Cheddar Adds Bold Flavor to Cheese Case

Last updated on August 16th, 2012 at 12:06 pm

A new line of vintage Australian cheddar cheeses has been launched in the U.S. under the Old Croc brand name.

The cheeses, featuring the playful warning, “Careful. It Bites!”, are being introduced by Millburn, N.J.-based Trugman-Nash, an affiliate of MCT Dairies, a supplier of cheese and dairy ingredients that also is based in Millburn.

The cheeses—Old Croc Sharp and Old Croc Extra Sharp—are available in 7-oz. and 24-oz. cuts as well as 10/11-lb. random weight loaves. They are set to debut early this summer in specialty cheese shops, club stores and supermarkets nationwide.

Ken Meyers, CEO of MCT Dairies and Trugman-Nash, said, “We are extremely confident that Old Croc will delight even the most discriminating cheese buyer in both taste and natural, healthy ingredients.”

Old Croc Sharp and Old Croc Extra Sharp are classic white Australian cheddars, crafted out of Australian milk from pasture-fed cows, never adding hormones. Aged a minimum of nine and 18 months, respectively, and the cheeses promise a “delightfully bold bite” to satisfy cheese lovers in the U.S.
