Kayem Foods Appoints Mulrain, Siff To Board Of Directors

Kayem Foods, the largest meat processor in New England, has appointed Michael Mulrain and Lawrence Siff to its board of directors. Kayem’s board of directors consists of nine company, family and external members who oversee or contribute to the company’s governance, strategy, capital investment, succession, risk management, budgeting and auditing.

Mulrain currently is CFO and COO of Polar Beverages Corp. in Worcester, Mass., the largest independently owned soft drink bottler in the U.S. Mulrain brings extensive financial experience to Kayem. His accomplishments include supervising the implementation of acquisitions that resulted in a 500 percent sales growth, executing strategic growth plans and providing significant increases in shareholder value. Serving as the clerk of company, Mulrain is responsible for all board communications and legal correspondence.

Siff, founder and managing director of Neptune Advisors in Needham, Mass., brings years of experience as a CEO to the Kayem board. His expertise includes capital raising, strategic and operational planning, driving revenue growth and profitability and maximizing corporate value. Siff also serves on the board of directors of Mason Cos. Inc. and serves as an advisor for Silverwood Partners, a boutique investment bank. A frequent lecturer at Harvard Business School, Brandeis University and Babson’s Olin Graduate School of Business, Siff is also a contributor to Forbes magazine.

Kayem Foods manufactures Kayem Franks and al fresco Chicken Sausage. Best known for its Old Tyme Natural Casing franks, Kayem produces more than 100 varieties of hot dogs and 300 varieties of deli meats, sausage and dinner hams under the Kayem, al fresco, Schonland’s, McKenzie, Triple M, Genoa, Jordan’s, Deutschmacher, Kirschner, and Essem brands. In 2009, Kayem Foods began manufacturing and distributing the Fenway Franks line of hot dogs.
