The deadline is Jan. 4 to submit nominations for the 2013 Woman of the Year Award to be presented at the National Grocers Association (NGA) Show, which will be held Feb. 10-13 in Las Vegas.

The Women Grocers of America (WGA) board of directors is soliciting nominations for the 2013 Woman of the Year Award. The prestigious award was established in 1996 by the WGA board to give visible support and recognition to women in the grocery industry.

Winners are chosen based on nominations of candidates from the independent grocery industry whose leadership has played a large part in the success of her company—and her local community.

Those submitting nominations will need to describe why the candidate was chosen, list her business achievements and accomplishments, describe her effectiveness in serving the community and/or in her civic work and describe how the candidate has contributed to the independent grocery industry. Nominations also may include articles, newsletters, photos or videos that reflect recognition received for her business, community or civic service and leadership.

The nomination form is available here.
