After months of testing, Fareway Stores officially launched a new storefront—the Fareway Meat Market (farewaymeats.com)—on Nov. 4.
Customers can order their favorite cuts of meat by 1 p.m., Monday-Friday, and have them delivered anywhere in the contiguous United States in time for dinner the next day.
“Our customers have been asking for years to be able to send our delicious meats all over the country to friends and family,” says Reynolds W. Cramer, EVP, Fareway Stores Inc. “This is just an extension of our 75-year proud tradition of selling the best quality USDA Choice Beef and All-Natural Pork and responding to our customers’ needs.”
The meats are cut by hand at one central location, frozen and packed on dry ice in an insulated container to ensure freshness and shipped immediately to the customer.
“When you order our products, you can rest assured they will meet the same high-quality cuts and taste standards that you’ve come to expect when selecting meat from our meat counter professionals in our stores and markets,” adds Cramer. “The same meats you purchase from our Fareway stores is exactly what will be sent the day you place an order online.”
Cramer credits Fareway’s Stephen Morgan and Caitlyn Lines for “being instrumental in the development of the new storefront.”
Morgan, part of the company’s IT department, led the effort to make the storefront easy to use, ensuring a pleasant shopping experience for customers. Lines, a dietitian, helped to create useful cooking tips and “worked to ensure the end product would be just as nutritious and tasty as what you’d find behind the meat counter in the store,” says Cramer.
