Stater Bros. will open its Riverside, Calif., replacement store Wednesday, June 25. The new 44,000-s.f. store is 80 percent larger than the current Riverside store, which will close June 24.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony will begin at 8:15 a.m. and the supermarket will open for business at 9 a.m. The new store at 2841 Mary St. in the Victoria Village Shopping Center is next to the current store at 2861 Mary St., which has operated in the community for 66 years. The new store features wider aisles, a greater variety of products and enhanced customer services.
“Stater Bros. has proudly served the community of Riverside since 1948, and the Stater Bros. supermarket family is especially proud to offer this modern and environmentally friendly Stater Bros. Supermarket to better serve our long-time and valued Riverside customers,” said Jack H. Brown, chairman and CEO of Stater Bros. Markets. “This new ‘Blue Ribbon’ Stater Bros. Supermarket demonstrates our commitment to the Riverside community that we have been privileged to serve for over 66 years.”
San Bernardino-based Stater Bros. currently operates eight other supermarkets in Riverside and 48 stores in Riverside County. In all, the grocer operates 167 supermarkets in San Bernardino and Riverside counties.
To celebrate the grand opening next week, Stater Bros. Charities will present donations to the Riverside Police Department for the Riverside Police Foundation; to the Casa Blanca Public Library for the purchase of new books in the Children’s Section; and to Second Harvest Food Bank for hunger relief efforts in the local community.
