David Goronkin, former CEO of Garden Fresh Restaurant Corp., has been named CEO of My Fit Foods.
“I couldn’t be more thrilled to join My Fit Foods, and carry on its mission of providing healthy, nutritious, convenient, and balanced meals to customers all over the country,” Goronkin said. “The My Fit Foods brand is as well positioned as any I’ve seen in the industry, so I’m eager to continue advancing its reach and increasing market share.”
Goronkin plans to add new talent to his executive team by recruiting experienced individuals who have participated in high-growth expansion.
Having worked in the restaurant industry since high school, Goronkin has been instrumental in the success of several well-known restaurant chains and franchises since the late 1980s. Most recently, Goronkin led Garden Fresh Restaurant Corp., the nation’s largest fresh, made-from-scratch soup, salad and bakery buffet chain with operations across 15 states.
Goronkin lends more than three decades of operational experience to the emerging My Fit Foods brand. The company said his depth of expertise in multiple segments of the restaurant business, including general operations, manufacturing, distribution and supply chain, is what is needed to take My Fit Foods to the next level.
“My Fit Foods has emerged as the largest player in the ‘Freshly Prepared, Nutritionally Balanced, Ready to Eat’ segment,” said Mario Mendias, founder and chairman of the board of My Fit Foods. “With David’s demonstrated capacity to drive breakthrough business performance, build brand equity and guide through responsible growth, I’m confident he will build a high performing and engaged team that will lead My Fit Foods to even greater heights.”
Headquartered in Austin, Texas, My Fit Foods offers healthy, nutritionally balanced, ready-to-eat meals and snacks prepared fresh in its kitchens for takeout. It has more than 80 stores located in California, Oklahoma, Texas, Arizona and Illinois.
