WinCo Foods will open its third Texas discount supermarket Thursday. The 89,500-s.f. Duncanville store is located at 800 S. Cockrell Hill Rd. The store will initially employ approximately 170 people, 160 of which have been hired locally.
Chenille Oggs, who has been with WinCo for nearly eight years, is the Duncanville store manager and transfers from Lancaster, Calif. Emmanuel Augustine, Sean Hall and Jessica Starke will serve as assistant store managers.
The store features the “Wall of Values” at the entry, which displays a variety of high-volume products at good pricing, according to the Boise, Idaho-based grocer. The main sales floor of the store encompasses a large fresh produce, bulk foods, meat, deli, seafood, and bakery service departments. The bulk foods department allows customers to buy only the amounts they want and displays more than 700 items, including many natural food products, some organics, snacks, candies, cereals, flours, pastas, spices and more.
WinCo Foods currently operates 95 stores and five distribution centers Idaho, Washington, Nevada, California, Oregon, Arizona, Utah and Texas
