Frozen pizza manufacturer Palermo’s Pizza, in partnership with key grocery retailers, is donating more than 50,000 pizzas to food banks during the company’s 50,000 Pizza Giveaway for Our 50th Anniversary campaign.
This fall, the Milwaukee, Wis.-based company will tour the country, marking each donation with an event at local grocery stores across the Midwest and southern regions of the U.S., as well as at Fort Bragg military base.
Palermo’s tour underscores the company’s social mission of giving back to the communities by joining forces with some of its largest grocery retail partners across the country and leveraging their shared commitment to local stewardship. Attendees also can embrace the spirit of giving by bringing nonperishable food items to donate to local food banks.
“Palermo’s has been supporting communities since the company was founded in 1964, and it feels natural to put our social mission at the forefront of our 50th anniversary celebration with our largest giveaway ever,” said Giacomo Fallucca, CEO of Palermo Villa Inc. “We could not be more thankful for the support of our valued grocery partners as well as their local food banks for their help in distributing more than 50,000 pizzas to consumers in need across the country, from our families to theirs.”
The three-month anniversary celebration began Sept. 14 in Green Bay, Wis., and the next stop is in Milwaukee on Sept. 27. Other dates and cities include Oct. 6, Kansas City, Mo.; Oct. 18, Grand Rapids, Mich.; Nov. 2, Fort Bragg, Raleigh-Durham, N.C.; Nov. 6, Charlotte, N.C.; Nov. 8, Jacksonville, Fla.; and Nov. 9, Tampa, Fla.
Consumers are invited to attend these dedication events and share their experiences using the #50kfor50 hashtag. Tagged posts will be featured on the Palermo’s website and on social media. In addition, the company will post video highlights of the tour stops on its website.
