Brookshire’s In Flint, Texas, Celebrates Grand Reopening

A grand reopening celebration began Wednesday at the remodeled Brookshire’s Food Store located at 20100 Highway 155 South in Flint, Texas.

A new storefront, signage, paint and décor gave the supermarket a fresh, modern appearance, while energy-efficient and sustainable features, such as a new automated lighting control system and polished concrete flooring, help decrease the store’s impact on the environment.

A 13,000-s.f. addition has enabled the store to expand its product selection and offerings. A new full-service market counter offers fresh cuts of meat and seafood, while the expanded beer and wine section provides hundreds of varieties of beverages.

In the bakery, an array of gourmet cakes and pastries are available for all occasions, along with fresh tortillas and baked breads prepared in-store daily.

The deli offers an expanded assortment of freshly prepared, ready-to-eat items and gourmet sandwich meats and cheeses.

The expanded produce section offers an increased selection of organic and locally-grown items, along with fresh-cut fruits and vegetables. The store also now carries an extended variety of gluten-free products.

The updated pharmacy now features a remote drive-thru lane. In addition to filling name brand and generic prescriptions, the pharmacy offers a full selection of non-prescription medicines and health and personal care products. The generic prescription program provides savings on 30-, 60- and 90-day generic prescriptions.

Along with all other Brookshire Grocery Co. (BGC) stores, the Flint location features the NuVal nutritional scoring system, which scores food on a scale of 1 to 100. The higher the NuVal Score, the better the nutrition.

At the official ribbon-cutting ceremony, BGC President and CEO Rick Rayford addressed the crowd and Store Director Keith Langston presented $1,000 donations to the Noonday Fire Department, Frankston Independent School District and the Rainbow House food pantry at United Methodist Church of Frankston.

“Brookshire’s has served the Flint community since 1993, and we are proud to offer our customers an even better food and shopping experience in this modern, updated facility,” Rayford said. “These renovations have completely transformed this store, and we are excited to continue serving our customers here for many years to come.”

The grand opening festivities will continue throughout the following weeks with special giveaways and promotions. On Oct. 11, the store will host “Kids’ Day” featuring Burble the Bear from TV’s “Danger Rangers” and several giveaways. More special offers will be featured in-store and in the weekly grocery ads.

BGC operates 152 stores that are located in Texas, Louisiana and Arkansas with three distribution centers and five manufacturing facilities. The company has been in operation since 1928.
