Beverly Lynch Named President Of FIAE

The Food Industry Association Executives (FIAE) has appointed Beverly Lynch as its new president, effective April 1, 2015.

“Beverly was selected from a first-rate group of applicants. The level of expertise offered by the candidates was exceptional, and the final decision was a difficult one to make,” said FIAE Chairwoman Jamie Pfuhl. “Beverly brought an outstanding perspective and an exciting vision for the future of FIAE. Her level of experience and understanding of the industry and association management bring the needed skills to continue our growth. She is extremely qualified to lead FIAE into the future.”

Lynch will begin the transition with Jim Olsen who has led FIAE for the past five years.

Lynch has enjoyed a more than 34-year career working in all aspects of association management. She currently serves as a consultant to her former company—the Advocacy and Management Group (AMG), which manages 14 state-based associations and lobbies for a variety of professional clients. She has held a variety of positions with the National Grocers Association, the New Jersey Food Council, New Jersey Food Processors Association and the New Jersey Department of Commerce and Economic Development.

She is the past president of the YWCA of Trenton and has served on the board of directors of Gilda’s House in Warminster, Pennsylvania. She holds degrees from Notre Dame University of Maryland and Stevenson College.

“FIAE has a key role to play in success of its members,” Lynch told the FIAE search committee. “By working together to utilize our collective resources, association executives can maximize their influence to create an even stronger leadership role in the food industry. As the landscape of the industry changes, FIAE members must have the tools to bring innovation solutions to answer the challenges. I am committed to building on FIAE’s strategic objectives and responding to the ever expanding needs of the membership. With the continued support and input of FIAE’s membership, I know we will succeed in accomplishing our mission of providing educational and networking opportunities to our members.”

FIAE is a national professional association representing local, state and regional food association executives since 1927, which in turn represent more than 95 percent of the grocery retail industry.  FIAE’s mission is to provide a forum for professional growth of the members’ employees and to serve as a vehicle for the interchange of ideas and advancement of the food industry agenda.
