Richmond 2015, the organizer of the 2015 UCI Road World Championships, says that Martin’s Food Markets will join its team of major corporate partners of the nine-day cycling event that will be held in Richmond, Virginia, in September.
Martin’s, operating 24 grocery stores in central Virginia, will be the “Official Supermarket” of this year’s UCI Road World Championships, which is expected to attract 450,000 on-site spectators from Sept. 19-27.
As part of the partnership, Martin’s will produce and distribute paper grocery bags in-store featuring the UCI Road World Championships logo during February and in the months closer to the event. In addition, Martin’s will produce and sell reusable grocery bags celebrating the event with net profit being donated to Richmond 2015 and promote the event in its stores.

Martin’s is part of the Giant/Martin’s company, which operates nearly 200 grocery stores in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia. The company is headquartered in Carlisle, Pennsylvania.
