The Melting Pot Restaurants of Tampa, Florida, a fondue restaurant and a casual dining franchise, is accelerating its expansion effort in Hartford, Connecticut, by offering a significant discount on its initial franchise fee. In honor of its 40th anniversary, The Melting Pot will offer new franchisees who sign a franchise agreement to develop one or more restaurants 40 percent off the initial franchise fee for their first restaurant—an $18,000 savings. Dunkin’ Brands, the parent company of Dunkin’ Donuts and Baskin-Robbins, announced that John Costello, president of Global Marketing and Innovation, has decided to retire in mid-2016. Costello will remain president of global marketing and innovation until he retires next year. The company will not replace Costello but instead promote two members of the senior marketing leadership team to assume his current responsibilities. Scott Hudler, VP of global consumer engagement, will continue to lead Dunkin’ Donuts’ U.S. digital, media, loyalty and advertising strategies and will now oversee Dunkin’ Donuts’ international and Baskin-Robbins’ international advertising and digital media strategies. Chris Fuqua, will be named VP of Dunkin’ Donuts brand marketing and global consumer insights and product innovation…

The Taste of the North End is set for Friday, May 1, from 7-10 p.m. at the Steriti Memorial Rink in the North End of Boaton. Guests can sample from more than 35 North End eateries showcasing an array of appetizers, cheeses, entrees, desserts and libations from area wine and beer distributors.
