Natural Grocers’ First Salt Lake City Store Will Debut Oct. 27

with logo Natural Grocers, Instacart Partner To Offer Grocery Delivery In Denver Natural Grocers by Vitamin Cottage has partnered with Instacart to provide grocery delivery service to customers in Denver in as little as one hour. Delivery to Denver metro area residents and businesses began Friday. Colorado-based Natural Grocers is the sixth Denver-area grocery store offering delivery service through Instacart. The announcement comes just a month after Natural Grocers and Instacart formed a partnership in the Portland area. Customers can choose from the full selection of Natural Grocers' local, natural and organic products on the Instacart marketplace. In addition to offering only USDA Certified Organic fresh produce and natural and organic meat and grocery items, customers can find a large selection of body care products and dietary supplements. "We're excited to offer Instacart delivery to our customers in the Denver metro area, while at the same time providing the highest quality organic and natural products available," said Kemper Isely, co-president of Natural Grocers. "Our partnership with Instacart comes with the added convenience of same-day delivery to a home or office—which is especially valuable to our customers who are busy and don't have time to make it into our store." Customers can place orders online or through Instacart's iOS and Android apps. Instacart's personal shoppers receive orders on their smartphones, handpick the items at Natural Grocers and then make the delivery. "We partner with companies like Natural Grocers that have the same commitment to excellent customer service and fresh organic groceries that support a healthy lifestyle," said Nilam Garenthiran, head of business development and strategy at Instacart. "We are thrilled to expand our store and grocery options for Denver residents through this partnership with Natural Grocers and look forward to expanding our partnership with them into more cities." Grocer to open first East Texas store March 31 In other Natural Grocers news, the company plans to open its first East Texas store at 4820 S. Broadway Avenue in Tyler on March 31. "We are excited to become the newest 'neighbor' in a community such as Tyler, which is very active and food- and health-oriented," said Isely. "Natural Grocers brings its customers natural and organic meat, produce and dairy from the highest-quality producers. We also offer extensive complimentary, science-based nutrition education programs for making informed health and nutrition choices." Natural Grocers has 94 stores in 16 states, employing more than 2,000 people. The Tyler location is one of 18 Natural Grocers stores expected to open in fiscal year 2015.

Natural Grocers will open its first Salt Lake City store on Tuesday, Oct. 27. It will mark the Colorado-based grocer’s third store in Utah. The new store is located 645 East 400 South, Suite A.

Natural Grocers says it will provide the Salt Lake City community with fresh produce that is exclusively USDA Certified Organic, as well as other healthy, affordable, organic and natural products. The store will include a mix of national brands and locally-grown, raised and manufactured products from Utah. The Salt Lake City store also will feature a nutritional health coach and offer free nutrition education classes to the public.

As part the of the grand opening on Oct. 27, the Salt Lake City store will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 7:55 a.m. and will then distribute mystery gift cards to the first 60 customers in line. Gift cards will be in the amount of $5, $10, $25, $50 and $100. Customers won’t know the amount of their gift card until they check out. The store also will offer a tasting of healthy food from its Paleo Wraps class.

Additionally, the grand opening will feature a live musical performance by the band Gorgeous Gourds from 7:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m., followed by a series of free celebrations, including food tastings, cooking demonstrations and nutrition classes with nutrition experts. All activities will take place from noon-4 p.m. on the following dates:

• Saturday, Oct. 31: A Taste of Fall

• Saturday, Nov. 7: Taste the Difference Food Standards Make

• Saturday, Nov. 14: Gluten-Free Holiday Fair

• Saturday, Nov. 21: Paleo Fair

Natural Grocers operates 103 stores in 18 states and is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year.
