The Specialty Food Association (SFA) has revealed the 2016 class of the Specialty Food Hall of Fame, honoring 47 leaders who have been instrumental in building and shaping the $109 billion specialty food industry. Among the inductees: David Isenberg of Chex Finer Foods, Alfed Ciccotelli Sr. and Jr. of Cento Fine Foods, Jack Kalagian of Near East, Larry La Pare and Joe Zander of Liberty Richter, Frank Muchel of World Finer Foods, Tom Porter of KeHE Distributors, Bill and Jack Renfro of Renfro Foods and Chasrlie Scheidt of Roland Foods. Those honored were nominated and selected by association members and the Hall of Fame Committee. The inductees will be honored on Jan. 18 at the Winter Fancy Food Show in San Francisco. CVS Health President and CEO Larry Merlo says that $1.3 million dollars will be donated from the 2015 CVS Health Charity Classic to support 103 charities across Rhode Island and southeastern Massachusetts.
