Stater Bros. Building New Rancho Cucamonga Store

Plans are in place to build a new Stater Bros. Supermarket at the northwest corner of Baseline and Day Creek roads in Rancho Cucamonga, California. The 44,000-s.f. full-service store slated to open in the fall is being developed by Lewis Retail Centers in the Day Creek Marketplace, which also will include a full-service drug store as co-anchor.

With wider, customer-friendly aisles, in-door dining and a new décor scheme, this new Stater Bros. supermarket will give customers an exciting shopping experience and an extensive assortment of fresh and healthy products, according to the San Bernardino-based grocer. It also will include all the full-service departments found in Stater Bros.’ newer supermarkets and incorporate many energy-saving and environmentally friendly practices.

This will be the third Stater Bros. supermarket in the city of Rancho Cucamonga; the company has served the local community since 1974. The new store will be nearly double the size of Stater Bros.’ two existing Rancho Cucamonga supermarkets, which are located at 8770 Baseline Road and 9750 Nineteenth Street.

“Building a new supermarket in Rancho Cucamonga is a homecoming for me personally,” said Jack H. Brown, Stater Bros.’ executive board chairman. “My mother, Rose Brown, was from Rancho Cucamonga and, when she married my dad, he was the captain of the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s substation in Rancho Cucamonga. My dad, Jack H. Brown Sr., also founded the first Mexican American baseball team, the Cucamonga Browns.”

Stater Bros. currently operates 168 supermarkets in Southern California.
