RIFDA Trade Day Is March 16, And More…

The Rhode Island Food Dealers Association (RIFDA) will host its Annual Trade Day from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, located at 801 Greenwich Avenue in Warwick. The Rhode Island Best Bagger competition kicks off the event, followed by a networking cocktail reception. This year’s dinner program will provide the setting for the 2016 RIFDA Hall of Fame Recognition Awards ceremony. This year’s honorees are Hope & Main, RIFDA Spirit of Rhode Island Award; Elizabeth Chace-Marino of Stop & Shop, RIFDA Outstanding Service Award; and Tourtellot & Co. and the Sigal Family, represented by Andrew Sigal, RIFDA Member of the Year Award. Jeff Vinacco of Bedford, New Hampshire, has joined the Certified Angus Beef brand as the executive account manager in the Northeast. Vinacco will assist retailers and foodservice distributors in New Hampshire, Vermont, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Maine, as well as retailers in New York, with developing beef merchandising solutions, marketing strategies and education. Vinacco has more than 20 years in the meat business. He served as a meat manager and perishable supervisor at various retail stores before joining Associated Grocers of New England as a senior meat buyer and then category meat and seafood manager. Vinacco also has worked as the owner/operator for Vinacco’s Market & Catering.
