Amazon To Launch Private Label Products, And More…

In the coming weeks, new lines of private label brands will begin to appear on Amazon.com, which will include the e-commerce company’s first broad push into perishable foods. The new brands will include nuts, spices, tea, coffee, baby food and vitamins as well as household items such as diapers and laundry detergents. Trace One of Boston, focusing on private label product development management solutions and supplier collaboration software for retailers, manufacturers and suppliers, has announced that Kelly Thompson has joined its management team to direct the company’s strategy on retailer and supplier collaboration. In her new role at Trace One, Thompson will be responsible for the strategy, evolution and execution of Trace One’s Supplier Collaboration Program. She has held strategic positions in relation to product development and private label sourcing at Target as well as technology roles at both Kraft and Nestlé. The Boston Public Market Association’s two seasonal farmers markets in Dewey Square and outside the Boston Public Market return this week, bringing fresh local food to residents, workers and visitors on the Rose Kennedy Greenway. As a supplement to the indoor, year-round Boston Public Market, the two outdoor markets offer farm fresh produce; meat, poultry and eggs; milk and cheese; fish; bread and baked goods; flowers; and an assortment of specialty and prepared foods from more than a dozen local farmers, fishers and food entrepreneurs.
