Last updated on June 13th, 2024 at 05:01 pm

Big Y World Class Markets is partnering with the American Red Cross to raise donations for those affected by the devastating floods in Louisiana.

Through Sept. 11, Big Y customers and employees will have the opportunity to donate to American Red Cross disaster relief at all Big Y locations throughout Massachusetts and Connecticut. Donation containers will be available at all registers.

“We have sent 1,900 incredible volunteers, including many from Connecticut, to provide aid to those displaced by the devastating floods in Louisiana,” said Mario Bruno, CEO of the American Red Cross-Connecticut and Rhode Island region. “Now more than ever, we need our friends and neighbors to help us continue our work. We thank Big Y’s customers and employees for supporting our efforts in Louisiana.”

Big Y, its customers and employees have a tradition of supporting those in need through the American Red Cross. Past relief campaigns have helped those impacted by the 2004 tsunami, Hurricane Katrina and the earthquakes in Japan, Haiti and Nepal. The 10-plus-year partnership has raised more than $445,000 to support both international and domestic disasters.
