The Fresh Market is unveiling a new look that the specialty grocer says stays true to its roots in offering fresh, delicious food. The makeover, however, re-imagines the market as a destination where guests can find an increased selection of local products, health-conscious items—and now, new categories, including everyday grocery classics, according to the North Carolina-based chain.

On Wednesday, Oct. 26, the company will reveal its new look and enhanced shopping experience at three North Carolina stores: 3712 Lawndale Drive and 1560 Highwoods Boulevard, both in Greensboro, and 3285 Robinhood Road in Winston-Salem.

Following this initial Triad launch, The Fresh Market will begin rolling out refreshed stores across the country, with 13 more locations currently scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 30, in the Charlotte and Raleigh/Durham, North Carolina, markets, and continuing in waves through early 2018.

“This is a significant milestone in The Fresh Market’s brand evolution,” said Rick Anicetti, president and CEO of The Fresh Market. “The reinvention of our stores will place an emphasis on delicious fresh fare, convenience and health and wellness options. The company is investing in what our customers love most about The Fresh Market, while adding new categories requested by our shoppers. This signifies our commitment to our shoppers, as well as our dedication towards innovation and evolution in today’s dynamic food retail environment.”

Beginning Oct. 26, Triad-area stores will offer shoppers “more of what they love with a concentrated focus on several key areas,” according to The Fresh Market:

• Fresh: Fresh fare remains top priority, with a robust selection of produce, meat, seafood and products from local farmers, but also high-quality items simply sourced from the best providers across the globe. Stores will now provide more than 250 local offerings, including local produce items from farmers across North Carolina such as Barbee Farms, Lively Orchards and Patterson Farm.

• Convenience: Expanded product offerings at stores and double the number of aisles will allow customers to complete a full shop for all the items on their list. In perhaps the most dramatic change, shoppers will now find 1,300 everyday grocery essentials, including baby, pet and household cleaning products to supplement the premium, gourmet and specialty items customers have come to love. In addition, shoppers will now find a new variety of freshly prepared salads, entrees and wraps.

• Value: The Fresh Market has lowered prices on hundreds of items across the store.

• In-Store Experience: New, dedicated sampling stations will offer shoppers the chance to taste flavors from across the store, including the weekly dish from the signature Little Big Meal program.   Additionally, on-the-go shoppers can conveniently pick up that week’s featured ingredients to easily serve a meal at home. New signage also will be located throughout the store to clearly designate departments, as well as inspire shoppers to explore new tastes.

• Health: Now a more comprehensive destination for health and wellness products, The Fresh Market offers even more items to help customers live a healthy lifestyle with its new Mind & Body department—featuring a selection of more than 3,300 vitamins, minerals and supplements, as well as a specialist to answer customer questions and offer recommendations. The addition of refreshed signage will guide those shopping with dietary restrictions or food allergies to a robust selection of health-conscious products across store, including 1,600 organic items, 850 certified gluten-free items and 1,900 certified non-GMO items.

In celebration of The Fresh Market’s new look in the Triad, the company will host grand reopening events at all local stores beginning at 7:30 a.m. Oct. 26 with activities, including a ribbon-cutting ceremony, live entertainment, food sampling and giveaways. Additional activities and promotions will continue throughout the holidays.
