Food Lion is celebrating the grand opening of its new store in Huntersville, North Carolina, on May 1. It’s the third location serving the Huntersville community.
The new store is at 13108 Eastfield Road. It will be open daily from 7 a.m. until 11 p.m.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for 7:45 a.m. Wednesday, May 1, with the store opening to the public at 8 a.m.
The first 100 customers in line will receive a free reusable bag and a mystery gift card with a value of up to $200.
“We are proud to have been a member of this community since 1972,” said Chris Spears, who is the new store manager. “We are very excited about the opening of this new store that will give our neighbors a place where shopping is easy, fresh and always affordable.”
The new Huntersville store offers in-store fresh-cut fruit, in-store made hand-battered buttermilk fried chicken, grab-and-go meals and fresh-made sushi.
The store features the company’s new Food Lion to Go service. Customers can click here, enter one of the participating zip codes, and select this store or the closest participating store.
As part of the grand opening ceremonies, a representative from Hearts & Hands Food Pantry in Huntersville will explain the assistance it’s received from Food Lion. Last week, Food Lion associates volunteered at the food pantry. The company donated more than 2,500 pounds of food. In addition, Food Lion is donating refrigeration units to Hearts & Hands Food Pantry to allow it to store and distribute more fresh items.
