Illinois’ Marcoot Jersey Creamery Launches Extreme Ice Frozen Treat

Marcoot Extreme Ice

In time for National Dairy Month in June, Greenville, Illinois-based Marcoot Jersey Creamery has launched its new frozen treat, Marcoot Extreme Ice.

Marcoot Extreme Ice contains crushed fruit and fresh sweet cream whey. Flavors are Strawberry, Mango and Strawberry Banana, with more coming soon.

“After we began making cheese, we found ourselves with an excess amount of whey we had to get creative with,” said Marcoot Jersey Creamery President Amy Marcoot. “Since whey is packed with protein, we thought why not make it into a delectable treat our customers could enjoy just like ice cream without the fat?”

Marcoot Extreme Ice is currently available in the Marcoot Country Store, Dierbergs Markets, the Renaissance St. Louis Airport Hotel, Midtown Market and Mannino’s Market.

Marcoot’s whey, a byproduct of cheesemaking, comes from the creamery’s primarily grass-fed cattle. Specifically, Marcoot raises Jersey cows.

Marcoot Extreme Ice is sold in 5-oz. containers. It contains 20g of protein and 0g of fat per serving, with no added sugar.

To kick off National Dairy Month, Marcoot Jersey Creamery is celebrating CheeseFest 2019 along with the nationwide launch of Extreme Ice and its new partnership with Schnucks.

“Spring has been a wonderful time for Marcoot Jersey Creamery,” Marcoot said. “Our team has been working incredibly hard to get us to where we are today. Extreme Ice and Schnucks are just the beginning. Get your taste buds ready, America.”

Marcoot Jersey Creamery’s CheeseFest 2019 is Saturday, June 1 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at 526 Dudleyville Road in Greenville. This family-friendly, free event will include the annual Marcoot Cheese Olympics with interactive games, cheese cooking demonstrations, and free samples.

Marcoot Extreme Ice also will be available for purchase at CheeseFest 2019.

In May, Marcoot Jersey Creamery also announced that Schnucks will officially provide their cheese in 90 locations throughout the St. Louis, Edwardsville, and surrounding Illinois areas. Aged in a special Marcoot underground aging cave—designed after the man-made cheese caves in Switzerland—natural aging is provided for their cheese.

Marcoot cheeses available at Schnucks’ delis include Aged Gouda, Tipsy Cheddar, Smoked Gouda, and Plain, Garlic and Sriracha Curds.
