Natural Grocers plans to open a new store in Fredricksburg, Texas, that will create 18 full-time jobs. The grocer held open interviews for the positions in late June for the store, which is located at 610 E. Main Street. Applicants also may apply for consideration at careers-naturalgrocers.icims.com.
The Lakewood, Colorado-based company—a specialty retailer of organic and natural groceries, body care and dietary supplements—did not say when the Fredricksburg store is expected to open.
Natural Grocers employs more than 3,500 people and operates 148 stores in 19 states. The grocer says it offers competitive pay, including its Natural Grocers Vitamin Bucks program, which provides employees an extra $1 per hour worked of in-store spending money. The company also offers birthday bonuses equal to one-day’s pay, which originated from founder Margaret Isely’s tradition of celebrating the birthdays of all employees by preparing lunch for them. Once the company became larger, her children, the current executives of the company, implemented the policy of providing each employee with a full day’s pay on their birthday as a way to say “thank you for working with us.”
