The Food Council Committee for Good Government (FCCfGG) has revealed the honorees for its 46th Annual “Good Government” Breakfast to be held on Wednesday, Oct. 2, at 8:30 a.m. at the Forsgate Country Club in Monroe, New Jersey.
“We are pleased to host such an impressive group of honorees who continually advocate for the state’s food industry,” says Phil Scaduto of Food Circus (Foodtown), chair of FCCfGG. “They are all impressive, accomplished individuals who fight for the New Jersey food retail and distribution industry and a New Jersey economy that encourages all our residents and businesses to thrive.”
FCCfGG treasurer and NJFC President Linda Doherty says, “New Jersey’s legislative atmosphere has been unpredictable and we appreciate the vision of these leaders who have a fair and balanced approach to good government policy.”
Jeanne Eichinger, sustainability and government relations team lead for Wawa, will receive the “Good Government Award,” the highest honor received by food industry members who actively participate in advocacy efforts for policies that help New Jersey’s food industry thrive.
Paul Rodriguez, acting director of the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs, will receive the Thomas W. Kelly Government Service Award for his ongoing efforts to bring updated and predictable practices to the Office of Weights and Measures.
State Sen. Vin Gopal (D-11th) will receive the “Outstanding Legislator Award” for his support of a legislative agenda that promotes growth of New Jersey’s food industry.
Assemblyman Ronald Dancer (R-12th) also will receive the “Outstanding Legislator Award” for his accessibility and active engagement and support of New Jersey’s food industry.
The event will include remarks by New Jersey General Assembly leadership on the upcoming General Assembly elections in November.
