HEB stimulus checks

In the spirit of Texans helping Texans, H-E-B is providing financial relief with free in-store check cashing of stimulus checks and will waive select fees for the H-E-B Prepaid Mastercard.

At all H-E-B Business Centers, H-E-B will provide free check cashing services for economic impact payment checks. This free service only applies to U.S. Treasury-issued paper checks specific to economic impact payments. To cash a check, customers will need a valid, non-expired state ID or driver’s license and Social Security number. Additional checks may be cashed using H-E-B’s check cashing services.

For customers who want to manage finances electronically while in the comfort and safety of their homes, H-E-B has waived the card purchase fee and 60 days of monthly plan fees for H-E-B Prepaid cards that are purchased between April 1 and May 31. Additionally, with the H-E-B Prepaid card, customers can set up direct deposit, providing faster access to economic stimulus funds, income tax returns, unemployment benefits, Social Security benefits or wages. Once their accounts are activated, customers are assigned a routing and account number to set up direct deposit.

For information on how to setup direct deposit for economic impact payments, visit the IRS here: irs.gov/coronavirus/economic-impact-payments.

The H-E-B Prepaid Card also offers free reloads every day at H-E-B. Customers can go to their store’s checkout lane or Business Center to load funds onto their card with no fee. For customers receiving a paper check, the H-E-B Prepaid mobile app also allows them to add check funds from the comfort of their home using their mobile device.

Customers can use their H-E-B Prepaid Cards at H-E-B or anywhere Mastercard debit is accepted to shop, pay bills and access cash at ATMs. New cards can be purchased at any H-E-B store or online at hebprepaid.com. No credit check required.

The H-E-B Prepaid Mastercard is issued by MetaBank, National Association, Member FDIC, pursuant to license by Mastercard International Incorporated. Netspend, a global payments company, is a registered agent of MetaBank, N.A.
