Día de los Muertos, also known as the “Day of the Dead,” is a Mexican holiday celebrated by family and friends gathering together to pray for and remember friends and family members who have passed on.

From festivals to costumes, these skeletal and colorful images are familiar to many nowadays. From now through Nov. 2,  Food City stores in Arizona will offer:

  • Pan de Muerto (Day of the Dead Bread), which is baked fresh daily and can be picked out in small and medium sizes, sprinkled with either sesame seeds or sugar coated.
  • Dia de Los Muertos themed/decorated cakes, cupcakes and cookies can also be found to enjoy and put on display.
  • Traditional dishes in the deli such as Chicken Mole, Pozole and Menudo.
  • A variety of candles in various Saints or Dia de Los Muertos themes.
  • Fresh flowers, specifically Marigolds, can be found to decorate your home.
  • Other Dia de Los Muertos-themed items such as party platters, bowls, cups and reusable bags can also be found.
