Amazon is opening a new 35,000-square-foot Amazon Fresh location on Dec. 10 at 3116 S. Route 59 in Naperville, Illinois. This store is the fifth Amazon Fresh location to open its doors, and the first in Illinois.
The Naperville store will be open from 7 a.m. until 10 p.m. CT daily. The first hour, 7 to 8 a.m., is open to serve customers who are 60 years and older, those with disabilities and those who are high risk, as defined by the CDC.
Amazon Fresh offers a low prices and an easy and convenient grocery shopping experience, both in-store or online. In addition, there is free, same-day delivery and pick-up for Prime members. The giant recently introduced Amazon Dash Cart, which enables customers to skip the checkout line, and new Alexa features to help customers manage their shopping lists and better navigate the aisles.
Competitive pricing includes $0.15 bananas; $0.89 freshly baked bread; $1.79 freshly baked pizza slices; and $4.97 rotisserie chickens. And the store’s opening will come with a variety of deals, too.
More of the selection includes: 365 by Whole Foods Market organics; national brands like Coca-Cola and Kraft Mac and Cheese; local brands like Turano Baking Company, Oberweis Dairy and Revolution Brewing; regional favorites like Duke’s Mayo, Ellenos Yogurt and Boston Chowda; and new Amazon exclusive brands, like Fresh and Cursive.
“We’re proud to support the community by creating hundreds of high-quality local jobs, with a starting wage of $15 and comprehensive benefits on day one,” stated the company. “We’re also supporting the Naperville community by donating surplus food from the Amazon Fresh store to local food banks. We have already donated over 165,000 lbs. of food, equivalent to over 135,000 meals, since this location opened as an online-only store.
“At Amazon Fresh, nothing is more important than the health and safety of our employees and customers. We’ve applied the same comprehensive safety measures in place at Whole Foods Market, such as requiring face coverings and daily temperature checks for all employees and vendors entering the store; requiring face coverings for all customers entering the store; offering free, disposable face masks for those who want one; and operating the store at 50 percent capacity.”
