Brookshire Grocery Co. Selects NCR POS For In-Store Technology

BGC spring critical NCR

Tyler, Texas-based Brookshire Grocery Company has selected NCR point of sale as the foundation of its in-store technology.

BGC is starting its infrastructure journey with NCR Emerald, a cloud-native POS solution. The NCR Commerce Platform unlocks the power of integrated capabilities across BGC’s physical infrastructure. The NCP unifies technology to run the store, delivering an effective way to merge existing and future retail applications quickly and efficiently. NCR

“BGC places a priority on customer service, and we’re looking for ways to leverage technology to improve the experience for our customers,” said Shawn Sedate, CIO of BGC. “Now that we’re live in our first store, we plan to start rolling out NCR’s solutions to our 206 locations. By simplifying and standardizing our store infrastructure, we’ll have more time to focus on customer needs and create offers that keep shoppers coming back.”

NCR provides more than a POS solution; it delivers an experience operating model via a platform that enables BGC to bring innovation to market faster and at a lower cost.

“BGC has always had the right approach to upgrading and deploying next-generation applications with speed. It simply needed the right technology to support these efforts,” said David Wilkinson, president of NCR Commerce. “From POS to self-checkout, or loyalty to payments, changes that took long periods of time to build, test and roll out across large store estates can now be achieved much quicker with the NCP.”

NCR transforms, connects and runs retailers’ stores from the front end to the back office and beyond, so they can focus on creating meaningful customer experiences.

NCR is headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, with 35,000 employees globally. NCR is a trademark of NCR Corporation in the United States and other countries.
