Houston, Texas-based Sysco Corp. has agreed to acquire Edward Don & Co., a distributor of foodservice equipment, supplies and disposables.
Headquartered in Chicago, Edward Don & Co. generates about $1.3 billion in annual revenue, serving a range of restaurant, foodservice and other customers across the U.S.
The acquisition will allow Sysco to add capabilities and offerings to complement its business and create a specialty equipment and supplies platform to provide better selection and service to customers.
Specifically, Edward Don & Co. will bring:
- A broad distribution footprint, with more than 1.4 million square feet of distribution centers and office space in key U.S. geographies,
- An experienced field sales team focused on equipment and supplies, and
- Design and build capabilities that complement Sysco’s business.
Upon completion of the transaction, Edward Don & Co. will operate as a standalone specialty division within Sysco, which expects to retain the leadership team, as well as all employees.
