FMI Names 2024 Store Manager Award Winners

FMI – The Food Industry Association has named the winners of the 2024 Store Manager Awards, shining a spotlight on the store managers who bring their passion and talents to serve their store, employees and customers. 

The FMI Store Manager Award nominations are submitted by peers and food retail companies to recognize outstanding managers who generate sales growth, effectively communicate company and store goals and objectives, demonstrate team leadership in their store/company and provide exceptional customer service through in-store programs and improve community relations.

Out of 180 nominees, 12 finalists were selected as 2024 FMI Store Manager Awards Finalists and winners were chosen May 9:

Category A (small retailers: companies with 1-25 stores)

  • Kerri Hunsley, PCC Community Market Columbia City – WINNER;
  • Cathy Moloney, Hanover Co-op Food Stores of New Hampshire and Vermont; and
  • Rea Noyes, Inserra Supermarkets ShopRite of Ramsey.

Category B (medium retailers: companies with 26-199 stores)

  • Amanda Gulley, K-VA-T Food Stores Inc. d/b/a Food City;
  • Roman Perez, The Fresh Market Inc. – WINNER; and
  • Tammy Sluck, Family Fare.

Category C (large retailers: companies with 200+ stores)

  • Michael Peebles, Brookshire Grocery Co.;
  • Alex Spurlock, QFC – The Kroger Co. – WINNER; and
  • Adam Thao, King Soopers – The Kroger Co.

Category D (international retailers: companies operating outside of the U.S.)

  • Rita Khijakadze, SPAR Georgia (SPAR International) – WINNER;
  • Chris Lawlor, Eurospar Wallace Village; and
  • Manfredo Tabor, SPAR Gourmet ‘am Fleischmarkt’.

“We are immensely proud of these store managers for their unwavering commitment to the communities they serve and for their innovative approach to leadership,” said Leslie G. Sarasin, president and CEO of FMI.

“These awardees are a testament to hard work and creativity and demonstrate the positive contributions the food industry makes in people’s lives each and every day. Congratulations to all our deserving winners.”
