Statesville, N.C.-based Bebida Beverage Co., a developer, manufacturer and marketer of relaxation and energy drinks, anticipates a growing marketplace in 2012 for its relaxation drink products, including Koma Unwind and the upcoming Relax 5.
“Bebida Beverage Co. is perfectly positioned to meet the growing demand for relaxation drinks, which is forecast to increase in 2012 and each year ahead through 2016. With Koma Unwind and our expanding product line, we are gaining global recognition as a leader in a growing industry,” said Brian Weber, CEO of Bebida Beverage Co.
Koma Unwind is mentioned as a main competitor in the relaxation drink sector in a new report released by IBISWorld. The report forecasts a “booming market for sleep-aid beverages.”
“The potential market is significant because over 53 million Americans have experienced insomnia or had trouble sleeping in the past year,” the IBISWorld report says. Growing per capita disposable income and demand from convenience stores and other retail outlets is projected to benefit the relaxation drink production industry in the five years to 2016, according to the report.
Also, existing companies are already signing nationwide distribution deals, which indicate market acceptance and familiarity with relaxation drinks—so they are not growing from an extremely low base as they did over the prior five years, according to a news release. IBISWorld estimates industry revenue grew at a 68.7 percent annualized rate over five years, including a 49.5 percent increase from 2010 to 2011 to total $73.7 million.
“The relaxation drink industry is already established and will be growing from a higher base, the potential demand pent-up in the market for relaxation drinks outweighs possible challenges to the industry,” according to IBISWorld analyst Agata Kaczanowska.
