Del Sol Achieves 10 Years With No Lost-Time Accident

Del Sol Food, manufacturer of Briannas Fine Salad Dressings, celebrated 10 years without a lost time accident on May 18 at the company’s plant in Brenham, Texas.

Employees were treated to a catered meal, a Briannas goodie bag, a bonus and the afternoon off. To further commemorate the occasion, Del Sol Food is flying a 10 Year Safety flag at the company’s front entrance.

“It has been about three or four years since we first gave thought to the idea that we might possibly be able to reach 10 years without a lost time accident,” said Jerry Brown, president. “I admit, I probably viewed it as more of a hope and a prayer than reality. However, here we are today—celebrating 10 years. For our company this equates to more than one million man-hours worked without a serious accident. What a blessing it is for all of us, and how proud I am of the entire Del Sol Team.”

The Del Sol Food Co. is family-owned and -operated, and four Del Sol family members are involved in the day-to-day running of the business. All Briannas salad dressings are manufactured at the Brenham facility. It was built in 2006 to give the company more warehouse and office space, as well as improved quality control with better product flow. It also has plenty of real estate for future expansion and carries the highest rating available from ASI Food Safety Consultants.
