TryAngle Foods Mourns Loss Of James Gamba

Members of the food industry and in particular TryAngle Foods are mourning the loss of James Gamba, 65, of Cranston, Rhode Island, who died March 15 following heart surgery complications. He worked for 28 years for the former Almacs Supermarkets as VP of meat and deli and was IT director for TryAngle Foods of Norwell, Massachusetts.

In other supermarket news, Michael Calise and Calise Bakery were honored on March 19 as the Rhode Island Food Dealers Association’s 2015 Food Industry Company of the Year at the RIFDA Trade Day held at the Providence Marriott Hotel. At that event, Kira Crockett of Stop & Shop beat out 17 competitors in the Best Bagger competition…

Kraft Foods has recalled 242,000 cases of original flavor boxed macaroni and cheese because the contents may contain pieces of metal.
