Friendly’s Ice Cream, the operator of Friendly’s restaurants and a manufacturer of ice cream products, has opened its first drive-thru in western Massachusetts, located at the Friendly’s restaurant at 21 Southampton Road in Westfield, right off exit 3 from the Mass Pike. This is a test concept and, if successful, could create new growth for the brand.
The drive-thru has one window for car service, while the restaurant, which has 3,788 s.f. of space, offers 140 seats for inside seating. The drive-thru serves guests “classic” menu items.
Friendly’s, celebrating its 80th year in business, in April opened a new quick-service restaurant at Logan International Airport in Terminal A, which was the first Boston-area Friendly’s restaurant to open in 12 years.
