The Massachusetts Food Association (MFA) will hold its annual meeting at a new venue this year—Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Massachusetts—on Oct. 26. Jonathan Kraft, president of the New England Patriots and The Kraft Group, will be the guest speaker. This year’s recipient for the Hall of Fame Award is Adam Bozzuto (posthumously) of wholesaler Bozzuto’s Inc. The recipients of the 2016 MFA Community Service Award are Michael Sleeper and Imperial Distributors, as well as the food industry and the New England Food Foundation. The event begins at 2:30 p.m. with the state’s best bagger competition followed by Kraft’s speech at 4 p.m. …
Paul Fishman, United States Attorney for the District of New Jersey, will be the keynote speaker at the New Jersey Food Council’s Northeast Regional Loss Prevention Conference and Exhibition on Oct. 26 at Forsgate Country Club in Monroe Township. In partnership with the New Jersey Retail Merchants Association, this conference focuses on the challenges of loss prevention and security in the food and retail industries. Fishman is expected to address important initiatives to tackle loss prevention and theft issues in the industry, particularly in the area of organized retail crime. The conference also will focus on cyber security, credit card data breaches and the importance of public and private partnerships with law enforcement.
