Ingles Markets is working to vaccinate the company’s distribution center and office associates with on-site clinics. Ingles Pharmacy set up clinic events in order to bring the vaccine to the company’s essential workers and make the vaccination process as convenient as possible.

The company’s goal is to increase access to the vaccine and provide ample time for associates to inquire about the product with vaccinating pharmacists.

“Throughout the pandemic, protecting our frontline associates and our customers has been our top priority,” said Ron Freeman, CFO. “Promoting vaccinations within our company not only protects our associates, but protects our customers and communities.”

Ingles Markets is taking this approach to protect its employees’ health and well-being in offering vaccination clinics. The company is also promoting vaccine uptake by offering associates paid time for completing their vaccination series.

In other news, the company announced that all 111 of its pharmacy locations have provided COVID-19 vaccinations to their communities. Ingles is actively working to administer vaccines across North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Tennessee.

“Protecting our patients is our pharmacy’s top priority, and we are proud to say we can play a role in turning the tide on this pandemic by offering vaccines to our patients at all of our pharmacy locations,” Freeman said.

Ingles received its first allocation of the vaccine in December 2020, and the pharmacy department has been working with both federal and state governments to bring the vaccine to their communities.

“Our pharmacists offer unparalleled healthcare, routine vaccines, and clinical counseling services to our patients every day. We are grateful they can look to us for their COVID-19 vaccination needs as well,” Freeman said.

In North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Tennessee, all patients 16 years of age and older are eligible for the vaccine. Those interested in receiving the COVID-19 vaccination at an Ingles Pharmacy location can visit the Ingles Pharmacy website at ingles-markets.com or call their local Ingles Pharmacy for details.
