WiseChoice Foods LLC, the manufacturer of the all-natural frozen pizza brand WisePies Pizza, says that beginning Aug. 4, Texas-based Central Market grocery stores throughout Texas will be featuring two new WisePies Pizza items: Hatch Green Chile Four Cheese Pizza and Hatch Green Chile Uncured Pepperoni Classico Pizza.
This is a new major market opportunity for WisePies Pizza to drive visibility and to garner new Hatch green chile pizza fans in large metro areas including Austin, Houston, San Antonio, Plano and Dallas/Ft. Worth areas.
“These types of promotional festivals, like the Hatch Green Chile festival at Central Market grocery stores, are vital to the longevity of the New Mexico Chile industry,” said Joram Robbs, New Mexico Chile Association executive director. “Sure, every New Mexican loves the flavor and spice that New Mexico chile offers, but we need to share that flavor with those outside of the state. This is how we share the culture of New Mexico with those that aren’t from here. Products like WisePies Hatch Green Chile Pizza are great to showcase the flavor and multiple uses New Mexico chile has to offer. Those that don’t have the knowledge or time to roast their own chile can still participate in the experience of eating New Mexico chile through innovative products like this.”
“Unique products like the WisePies Hatch Green Chile Pizza line also supports family farms in New Mexico that grow New Mexico Certified Chile. These family farms are vital to the state of New Mexico and events like this help promote the hard work behind producing New Mexico chile,” Robbs said.
In past years, the festival has featured many “hatchified” products throughout Central Market stores and overall roasts more peppers than anyone else outside of Hatch, New Mexico. It was named by the New Mexico Tourism Department as the most authentic Hatch festival outside of New Mexico.
